I have twenty years experience in website production. I started out as a developer for a small Leeds based web agency in 1996. Thrown in at the deep-end with clients such as Heinz, Farleys and Irn-Bru.
I soon realised two things:
- I was not a very good developer
- I was never going to be a very good developer
So I taught myself photoshop, swallowed some design theory books and never looked back. I spent a few years living in Spain, refining my UI design skills building websites for local estate agents before returning to the UK.
Since then I’ve worked as a web designer for Bradford & Bingley (RIP), StepChange Debt Charity & Skipton Building Society, before moving into a user experience design role with Financial Force.
I’m currently part of an amazing team at NHSDigital working on NHS.uk
